...to fairy land.
Yesterday, the children and a neighborhood homeschooling friend spent several hours outdoors, including creek exploration. They discovered beautiful mosses, glistening with velvet green and sprouting! Several of the mosses found themselves relocated downstream in a fairy village. The children LOVE creating fairy homes, often in the tangled roots of ancient oaks, mossy grasses for floors, leaves for beds, and rocks for paths and chairs... anything from nature can come back to nature in a fairy house.
If you see a fairy ring
in a field of grass,
Very lightly step around,
Tip-Toe as you pass,
Last night Fairies frolicked there
And they're sleeping somewhere near.
If you see a tiny fairy
Lying fast asleep
Shut your eyes and run away,
Do not stay to peek!
Do not tell
Or you'll break a fairy spell.
