Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Big Sister did a lot of contemplating at last year's catechesis program. With her permission, I have copied a few of her meditative drawings of rosaries.

A typical rosary that Big Sister draws. Each bead carefully recorded,

 with Jesus large and in yellow- a happy color.

"Freedom" What better a name for a joyfully contemplated drawing of this rosary. Big Sister explained that the large red and yellow circular shape at the bottom represents creation, much like the Everything Seed. It is located where the crucifix would be on a traditional rosary. Next on the rosary is a blue 'bead' for water, then a green leaf for plant life. A yellow flower for life that procreates through male and female parts, then a fish for animal life. It cant help but be noticed that the fish is styled as early Christians depicted the fish in Ancient Rome. Then Big Sister has drawn a decade of evolving human figurines. They begin as human and become Christ on the cross. That decade ends with a blue and green Earth crossed in gold- also known as the Cosmic Christ, which Big Sis described as Parousia.

Tiny bits of origami paper cut into shards. Each decade has 10 'beads'.

"The Earth as my Rosary

Ocean= Hail Mary

Dirt (High Land)= Hail Holy Queen, Faith, Hope, Justice

Grass, Forest= Our Father" 

Big Sister describes this rosary saying that it starts on the earth (dirt), extends into the oceans, and then concludes the first decade in growing plants (grass, forest). She also said the rosary goes all around the earth but she had not drawn that part yet.

...and this not wonderfully in focus pic, simply because Big Sis called it "a happy little decade"
