An Egalitarian Boy

Upon finding that his Aunt could not attend his birthday party tomorrow, Little Brother's greatest concern was that she get her slice of cake. So even though we havent even blown out candles yet, and I hated to cut into the cake before the actual party, it seemed much more important to be willing to give and give fairly than it did to have an unmarred cake.

Post Script:

Before bedtime the eve of his birthday, Little Brother informed me that "Mommie, you dont have to get me a gift for my birthday because (and here he begins to cry!!!!) every morning you give me love and care for me."

And then to his Big Sister: "And YOU already give me a gift every day by being my Big Sister and being nice to me... except when you pick on me, but mostly you are just my Big Sister and I love you!" (more tears at this point!

What a beautiful child. This TOTALLY makes up for the times when he hits, yells and otherwise displays grumpy behavior.
