We Have Weird Cats

The kids were doing some science experiment involving pipettes, test tubes, mysterious toxic powders, permanent dyes and chemical reactions of a slightly explosive nature. I was worried. The kids were happy. The cat was incredibl intrigued. I mean freakishly interested. This cat was attacking the foaming, smoking reaction points with his paws and getting closer and closer and closer...

Same cat as in the science experiment, but this time working with energy of a different nature. Light energy emits heat energy and Mr. Science Kitty knows this. He basks under this three way light with the old fashioned energy sucking incandescent light bulb for HOURS, merely looking annoyed when you notice him.

This cat also enjoys the heat from the three way lamp, but lacks sufficient confidence to boost his grumpy brother over. Instead he absorbs lambent heat from a little lower down. Its like passive solar attitude. This cat also has the uncanny ability to close his eyes a millisecond before the flash goes off on the camera, so like Big Sister, his eyes are half shut on almost every picture. Apparently this super power is genetic and/or hereditary in our family.

And this cat is King of the Robots. Or King of WhateverElseHeHappensToBeSittingBy. Pretty much no matter what is on the floor, he will go sit next to it, looking generally authoritative and regal.

This is bowtie pasta, which is basically unrelated to cats at all, other than the thought that it would look cute ON a cat as an actual bowtie. I took the photo because bowtie pasta reminds me of all the great times I had with friends, homemade pesto, and bowtie pasta. Plus this is that Barilla Plus super protein made with chickpea flour stuff that makes me look like a thoughtful, caring and healthy parent. No plain old regular pasta for MY kids. At least not this time.
