Earlier This Summer ~ Floating Boats

How to make a boat: On old candle for wax, paper bowls for hulls, bamboo skewers for masts, rocks for weight, hot glue to hold it all together.

After dipping the bottom of the paper bowls in melted wax, the rocks, mast and sails went on. Strings keep the little ships from sailing away.

Perched at the creek bank

  1. There is a great old book called Pirates in the Park about a boy who makes a little boat out of a walnut shell. It's a bit obscure, but I remember it clearly!
