Every few years, we feel a hankering for a co-op- a group of homeschoolers who decide to teach a certain topic together with a group of familes. It can be great fun, but does require commitment. We like our flexibility so the timing and the group has to be right for us.
This year we found a great group that meets every other Friday and covers math, mythology, and art!

One week, the mythology teacher told spider stories from around the world and had the kids make Mississippian spider gorgets. So Big Sister brought some interesting pieces of her own native peoples lithics collection to present to the students. The kids were fascinated and Big Sis enjoyed being the presenter for a change. She's really great at this kind of thing!
