Our New Friday Habit

The kids and I have been getting up early(ish) on Friday mornings, grabbing some schoolwork, and heading out to the cafeteria at HyVee! It's lots of fun and quite productive.
The kids get their own table and tackle their work. If a friend comes, they have some board games, like Carcassonne to play.
Sometimes friends of mine show up and we get to chat. If they don't, I catch up on my office-type work. Balancing the checkbook, updating files, etc.
HyVee has wifi, which is handy. Each of the kids got a little chromebook for Christmas and they can do their own research while there. Last Friday, the researched information about Pope Benedict to add to a fun lapbook.
