A Real Man

A real man uses his strength in the service of others.

Greater love hath no man than this,

that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13

I made this poster for my son. Printed it up just as you see above with the three pictures and the two quotes. I read it to him slowly, emphasising the words "man", "strength', and "service".

Its SO HARD to know what a real man should look like in our culture today. But I found this definition in Leonard Sax's book, Boys Adrift. It spoke to me deeply. I want this for my son.
 
I told him today that he is becoming a real man. He used his strength to help his Papa- to build a porch for our whole family. He used his strength in the service of others.
 
This little boy will become a real man. He is already on the path.
